RADICAL READERS REQUIRED

Radical Reading is a grassroots project and an OPIRG Working group that runs its programming in Hamilton, ON, at Bryan Prince Bookseller (in Westdale). It promotes inclusive children’s literature and aims to begin critical dialogues with children and their families about social and environmental justice issues.

Once a month, we read a book on a diversity/inclusion/social justice-related theme and ask kids questions about the world we live in and the changes we need to make, in order to build a better future for our communities.

The session takes place the 2nd Saturday of every month and lasts for 45 min. If you’re interested in taking over this project (i.e. being the lead storyteller and conversation facilitator), please email Preeti Nayak at nayakp2@mcmaster.ca

We are looking for a McMaster University student to take over this project who is interested in social justice and children’s literature!  Please share this call-out widely. Thanks.
