Job Description:
Maintain OPIRG McMaster Resource Library.
Responsibilities include:
Familiarize yourself with our cataloguing system, Resource Mate.
Input new resources into the system.
Assist students seeking resources.
Help to publicize the Resource Centre through various outreach methods, including hosting a Resource Centre Open House in September.
Maintain contact with Mills Library in order to continuously update our resource listing on their system.
Compile a listing of suggested purchases based on feedback from Board members and students as to what is lacking in our library.
Work with the OPIRG board member who holds the Resource Library portfolio.
Update the OPIRG website and Facebook profile with regards to the Resource Library.
Assist with the OPIRG newsletter.
Prepare posters for events.
Assist in the advertising of OPIRG events through a variety of social media.
Transcribe OPIRG historical documents from hard copy to word documents.
Act as receptionist, greeting visitors and answering the phone when permanent staff is out of the office.

Job Requirements:
Library experience is beneficial, but not necessary.
