VOLUNTEER: weekly placements still available at local facilities with Community Volunteer Action

A few CVA groups really need more volunteers to help out with at risk youth and adults with disabilities in Hamilton. Please consider signing up or let your friends know – placements start this week!

CONWAY – Mondays from 1:00-3:45, Tuesdays from 2:00-4:45. Interact and assist with residents living with physical disabilities with a variety of activities such as games, projects, & computers.

PATHWAYS TO EDUCATION – Tuesdays from 4:30-7:45. Tutor high school students through homework assignments, studying, social engagement and conversation.

Community Volunteer Action (CVA) is sponsored by MSU Open Circle and is a working group of OPIRG, McMaster. We are a network of volunteering groups where you volunteer weekly with other McMaster students at placements across Hamilton. Your group facilitator helps you find your way to the placement and facilitates discussion for 15 min. after each volunteer session to help you reflect on your experiences and how these relate to larger societal issues.
