Some really beautiful functional art has been created as part of Judy Major-Girardin's Environmentally Responsible Studio Art class project to build "Bee Hotels" for bees in west campus.
OPIRG's Hamilton Urban Beekeeper working group's Brandi-Lee MacDonald was instrumental in helping this project come to life, as was OPIRG McMaster's Public Interest Grant which was awarded to Judy's project in the spring of 2014 ($500.00)
OPIRG's HUB working group maintains an active hive in the west campus, students can join the working group to get hands on experience with bees and contribute to protecting bees as they face declining numbers.
