Space is still available to participate in a series of special printmaking sessions with Centre 3, Hamilton!
The Ontario Public Interest Research Group (OPIRG) McMaster Board has accepted an invitation from Centre 3, Hamilton (James Street North) to participate in a community art workshop series in conjunction with the exhibition, “Qualia, or the Feel of Steel.” Whether newly arrived to Hamilton or a life-time resident, this will be a unique opportunity for students to express what it means to be part of the “steel town.”  Findings will be presented publicly in the format of an exhibition to be held in January, 2013 at The Workers’ Arts and Heritage Centre.
OPIRG members will be engaged in making collagraph colour prints.  The youtube videos (links below) give an idea of the process involved.
The instructor will be Ingrid Mayrhofer of Centre 3.  Workshops will be held for four consecutive Saturday afternoons, November 3, 10, 17 and 24.  Centre 3 is generously giving their instructor’s time, as well as use of their studio space for the workshops.  For full workshop description details, as well as information on the Qualia exhibition curated by Ingrid, please see attached.  Workshop registration will be capped at 10 people.  If you are interested, send us an email asap, as it will be a first come, first serve basis for registration.
To register through OPIRG McMaster e-mail Shelley at shelley@opirg.ca
