Year End Highlights part 4. Working Group: MISCA

MISCA (formerly MFNSA) worked through a busy agenda all year, mixing it up with political and social events to ensure maximum participation and exposure.

Here are some highlights from their year end report:

-1st Annual Cultural Gathering (celebration of Indigenous culture)
-Faceless Doll Workshops (3) (brings awareness to MMIW)
-games night, open mic and silent auction (fundraiser)
-speaker series with Phil Monture (raised awareness of land lost to Six Nations due to colonialism)
-Canadian Roots Exchange workshop 'the blanket exercise' (goes through history of colonialism to show effect its had on Indigenous people) -Dreamcatcher workshop (fun way to engage students in Indigenous culture while learning about Anishnaabe)
